×Some soap makers use distilled or purified water for the hydrolysis, a chemical reaction in which water is used to break down the bonds of a particular substance. Think about how oil and water don't mix. Hydrolysis makes it possible. Some use goat milk, we use coconut milk! We chose to use coconut milk for the hydrolysis process because it contains a good concentration of lauric acid, a medium chain fatty acid that's an extremely gentle natural surfactant; foaming agent. When saponified during the soap making process, coconut milk creates a natural foam attributefor the lather! Coconut milk is also high in sugar, and sugar is good for making bubbles! It's a marriage made in soap making heaven!
To ensure the longevity of your coconut milk soap, store it in a dry, cool place between uses. Avoid leaving it in standing water or in direct sunlight, as this can cause the soap to melt or deteriorate faster. You can also prolong the life of your soap by using a soap dish with drainage holes. If you keep it dry in between uses, one 7 oz bar of Island Thyme Soap Co coconut milk soap will last about a month with daily use for one person.

We use all-natural wooden wicks, produced in the USA and sourced from FSC-certified mills. When we spend $100 on wick orders from our USA supplier, a tree is planted throughTrees for the Future. They create a fast burn pool for excellent hot throw. They don't mushroom and have little carbon buildup, debris, or sooting. Wooden wicks produce a tantalizing crackling sound when burning, like a campfire on the beach!
Essential oils oftentimes have very low flash points which cause the fragrance notes evaporate too quickly when added to hot candle wax. Our phthalate and paraben free fragrances are a complex blend of sophisticated fragrance notes specifically developed to be used in candle making by candle makers and at levels in compliance withIFRA fragrance guideline.
