Today is Giving Tuesday on the Island
We are very blessed to be able to do what we love to do. Today we give back to those who have sacraficed so we are free to follow our dreams. We will donate 25% of todays sales to Fisher House Foundation as they continue to help serve our military and Veteran families. The Foundation will match our contribution today!
Fisher House Foundation provides "a home away from home" for military & veterans families while a loved one is in the hospital. At VA medical centers, they do not charge a room fee for guest families at all Army, Navy, and Air Force Fisher Houses. The homes are normally located within walking distance of the treatment facility or have transportation available. There are 78 Fisher Houses located on 24 military installations and 33 VA medical centers. Many more houses are under construction or in design.
The Foundation is a "unique private - public partnership," In many instances, because the funds benefit a specific individual or family, laws and regulations prohibit the expenditure of government funds, but do permit the expenditure of privately donated funds.
In addition to providing a home away from home, Fisher House Foundation also has a Miles for Heros program, Hotels for Heros, and Scholarship programs for military children and spouses of fallen or disabled veterans.
