World Book Day, created by UNESCO on 23rd April 1995 as a worldwide celebration of books and reading changes lives through a love of books and shared reading. Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success, more than their family circumstances, their parents’ educational background or their income.
Admit it. Old books just smell good. We even wrote a blog post about it called "The Scent of Old Books." Our homage to reading inspired us to create our Scent of Old Books Coconut Milk Soap. It's a woody scent blend with notes of an old novel :)
When you celebrate World Book Day with a purchase of a bar of Scent of Old Books Coconut Milk Soap, Island Thyme Soap Company with donate 10% to Room to Read, an organization working to transform the lives of millions of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education.
