What Giving Tuesday Gets Wrong

What Giving Tuesday Gets Wrong | Island Thyme Soap Company

It's only one day!  We believe it should be Giving Month! So once again, when you shop, we give!

When you shop between now and Jan 1, 2020, we'll give10% of that purchase to our chosen partners for this holiday season; Make-A-Wish® Foundation and Fisher House

Make-A-Wish® mission:

Wishes are more than just a nice thing

A wish experience can be a game-changer for a child with a critical illness.

This one belief guides us in everything we do at Make-A-Wish®. It inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve. It compels us to be creative in exceeding the expectations of every wish kid. It drives us to make our donated resources go as far as possible.

Most of all, it's the founding principle of our vision to grant the wish of every eligible child.

Wishes are more than just a nice thing. And they are far more than gifts, or singular events in time. Wishes impact everyone involved - wish kids, volunteers, donors, sponsors, medical professionals and communities. The impact varies. For wish kids, just the act of making their wish come true can give them the courage to comply with their medical treatments. Parents might finally feel like they can be optimistic. And still others might realize all they have to offer the world through volunteer work or philanthropy.

Whatever the odds, whatever the obstacles ... wishes find a way to make the world better.

Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. ”

Fisher House

Fisher House Foundation builds comfort homes where military & veterans families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the hospital.

These homes are located at military and VA medical centers around the world.

Fisher Houses have up to 21 suites, with private bedrooms and baths. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a warm dining room, and an inviting living room.

Since inception, the program has saved military and veterans’ families an estimated $451 million in out of pocket costs for lodging and transportation.

Fisher House Foundation also operates the Hero Miles program, using donated frequent flyer miles to bring family members to the bedside of injured service members as well as the Hotels for Heroes program using donated hotel points to allow family members to stay at hotels near medical centers without charge. The Foundation also manages a grant program that supports other military charities and scholarship funds for military children, spouses, and children of fallen and disabled veterans.

Auld Lang Syne

The holiday season reminds of of all we have to be thankful for: our friends, family, and the joy and kindnesses we share with loved ones and strangers alike during this time of year. The spirit of the season is about far more than the beautiful lights, decoration and extravegant feasts.  It's about the spirit of giving.

Now that the New Year is here and we just can't stop.

Our "You Shop. We Give" is a permanent thing for 2020.

Anytime you shop Island Thyme Soap Company's products, we'll give 10% of that purchase to a cause that's a passion of ours, or one that is a passion of yours during checkout at no extra cost to you, 365 days a year.
