Science Advances reports that an estimated 6.3 billion tons of plastic waste have been produced globally since 1995, but only 9% was recycled, as 12% was incinerated and the other 79% ending up in nature or landfills.
"Body wash" is likely to be a liquid detergent packed with drying chemicals, artificial surfactants, and preservatives that when rinsed off, get washed down the drain.
