Hemp Seed Oil - Island Thyme Soap Company

With a Sale on our Hemp Seed Lotion!

The 9th annual Hemp History Week will be held June 4-10. Industrial hemp is a rich fiber woven throughout American history. In fact, The Declaration of Independence was drafted on hemp paper! From ship rigging and canvas covered wagons to nutrient-dense seed oil and protein, our history wouldn't be the same without hemp.

We love it for its' oil! (Not to be confused with CBD oil) Hemp seed oil is exceptionally rich oil containing essential omega fatty acids and proteins. This oil has a pleasant nutty smell, deep green color, and absorbs well into the skin. The green color in hemp seed oil is a result of the chlorophyll which is naturally present in the seeds.

Our amazing Omega Hemp Seed Lotion contains the fatty acids of Omega 3 and Omega 6 (Gamma-Linolenic acid). When used on the skin, they can help bolster your skin's suppleness by protecting and nourishing your skin's layers.  This ultra-creamy, fast-absorbing lotion also contains nourishing Shea butter, milk protein & vitamins to give skin long-lasting moisture.

So celebrate this wonderful gift of nature during Hemp History Week and snag the $2 in savings!

Choose from Lavender Patchouli, Island Coconut or Sakura Spring!

Oh Honey! The Benefits Of Raw Honey In Skin Care Are Significant

October 09, 2018

Raw honey and skin care is a match made in heaven

Honey isn’t just for sweetening toast and tea. Honey is one of nature’s true MVPs. Historically, honey has been used to suppress coughs, treat burns, diaper rash, psoriasis, dress wounds and make your face glow!  Medicinal honey can moisturize wounds, stimulate tissue growth, collagen synthesis, and blood vessel formation, inhibit microbial infections, and soothe tissue inflammation.

If you're not impressed by the power on honey by now, we'll add one more property in honor of the month of October and Halloween. Creole women in Lousiana use honey to treat skin ailments AND in potions to ward off ghosts.

Skin care and paranormal prevention. Now that’s some serious double duty.

September Means Changes To Your Skin Care Routine

September 04, 2018

Unless you are blessed like us to live in an environment where it's eternally summer, September means it's time to trade those flip flops and tank tops for jeans and a sweater.

Skin Care Routines Must Change With The Seasons

The skin is the barrier between the internal and external world and as much as they may wish summer wouldn't end so soon, for most people reading this, it’s just not summertime anymore. September also means it's time to transition away from summer skincare routines. Temperatures may vary greatly from one day to the next, It can be hot, humid during the day and cooler and dryer at night. The water in the air affects the balance of water (hydration) in the skin. A humid climate can soften skin and make it easy to maintain fullness, but a dryer climate can dehydrate the skin, making more likely to show fine lines and wrinkles.
